Our last Sox game of the year. It was a great game, a great day, and we spent it with great people! Still, it’s sad when the Sox aren’t in the postseason. Wait till next year, right?? Oh, and for those keeping track this is Sox game #6 for Maddie. PLUS she saw the Spinners and plenty of softball this year. She’s in training remember!

Coors Field (Rockies)

We headed back to Coors Field for another shot at a Sox victory - this time armed with more Sox fans (well, at least one!). Pat and Katie helped keep Maddie entertained for most of the game, but left us east-coast reps to battle through the late innings and an extra frame (~5 hr game in total). The Sox pulled of a big W, in large part to do my boy Dustin and his 3 home runs. We were glad Maddie let us stay till the end.

Maddie’s first Sox road trip was a success! Well, not the outcome of the game, but it was a fun one to watch and Maddie enjoyed it (so did we). There was a very entertaining Sox fan (also very drunk) a row ahead of us who razzed his friends all game and informed the world that Nava was the “future of baseball!”

Game #3 for Madeline - what a Sox fan! Today we went to a game against the Athletics as part of a group. In addition to seeing another win we also got to hang out with some of Kate’s college softball friends, which was really cool. Maddie showed off her bottle holding skills and enjoyed all the company.

Grandma Beth gave us her tickets to tonight’s game against the Twins. What a difference a week makes - tonight was gorgeous! Maddie enjoyed the game, an even fussed when she wasn’t looking out at the field (I suppose it was really the lights she enjoyed)! She slept peacefully near the end of the game. Can’t wait to do this again!!

Beth and Tim joined us for the Sox vs. Sox matchup on Labor Day, at the new Comiskey Park. It was an amazingly hot day, and while the good Sox lost it was a great time and a fun visit with our old pals.

Mom gave Jason two tickets to see the Sox for his birthday this year, and we managed to catch some quality time behind home plate before retreating to our “zone”. What a fun day!

Toronto, Ontario, Canada:
We spent a long weekend enjoying the city of Toronto and two Sox games at the Sky Dome. They didn’t seem to know whether they wanted the roof open or closed, so we saw the transition numerous times. While I wouldn’t say there were a lot of Jays fans, those that turned out were a bit feisty and didn’t enjoy the Red Sox Nation’s trip north!

Another partial hit. Kate made this trip with friends, but Jason couldn’t go. We’ll hit the Trop’ again soon. It was great to share a game with cousin Cliff while I was in the area!
